Many of our Exhibiting Artists group brought their paintings to hang in an outstanding display of work! This is a village event and everyone looks forward to it. It is a social and relaxed exhibition for our members too….

Outdoor gazebo stall - exhibition and sale of paintings, prints and cards - part of a large village event with the theme : Paris Olympics
Another successful Village Fair for Pirbright Art Club! Our sales weren't as many as we'd hoped but we took £342 and were able to give the Church fund £61 (15% of sales plus one artist's generous contribution of £10). They were delighted!
EXHIBITIONS 2023

Shown below are many of the exhibits from the artists who took part in the event.
Chris Webb - his large eye-catching painting of a Passionflower ("How Dare I Be So Beautiful") attracted many comments from visitors!
Colin Wood - his paintings are all done in watercolour but are incredibly detailed - almost photographic
Janet Moore - featuring her lovely pen drawing of the Blacksmith's Clock at Abinger Hammer - sold at the Exhibition
Sue Pallot - Sue's unusual night scenes and the view through a window were started in Maggie's Friday Painting class
Steve Wells - Steve is an oil-painter and a member of Surrey Hills Plein Air painters

Steph Davies - portraits of family members were NFS but Steph takes commissions!
Maggie Read - standing in front of her exhibition entries
Stephen Jones - standing in front of his exhibition entries
RAILINGS EXHIBITION 2023
Our Summer outdoor exhibition was held on Saturday July 29th in conjunction with the Pirbright Horticultural Show which took place inside Lord Pirbright's Hall (our exhibition used the railings outside the Hall). Despite the weather, dull with a little rain, which probably reduced footfall, we managed to sell a few items - mainly cards, prints and mounted work. All-in-all an entertaining and successful day. Some pictures of the Railings exhibition are shown below.
VILLAGE FAIR 2023
The annual Village Fair was held on Saturday June 17th. The "theme" was "All Around the World". Pirbright Art Club had a double gazebo with a display of framed and unframed paintings, prints and cards for sale.
In her letter of thanks to members, Maggie Read said - "Firstly a huge thank you for all of you who helped make Saturday's event a real success for Pirbright Art Club. The Pirbright Village Fair is always a popular and well-attended village event with many visitors and lots of attractions. It brings lots of people to the village and has everything a village fete should have, from donkey rides to dog-shows and a wide variety of stalls selling all kinds of crafts and produce.
Our stall looked fabulous - a really good display of artwork. After a rather slow start in the morning, there were eventually many people looking at the paintings - our walk-through exhibition tent worked well. It was a hot day, so we were glad that people had still made the effort to come along with their families and, as we were right by the central arena (dance displays; dog-show etc), we had lots of visitors!
We took a phenomenal amount in picture sales - £840! Not bad for a stall at a fete! This means a very healthy contribution will go to the Church funds, so they should be pretty pleased with that. Congratulations to all who sold pictures: Steve Wells; Bill Searle; Frank Fuller; David Drury (and I sold a couple too!). This was a great result, as everyone says that people don't come to village fetes to buy pictures!" (Some of the Sold pictures are shown below)
"Thank you so much to our willing helpers who helped set up and stewarded for many hours on Thanks too to those who came to help dismantle the exhibition tents and load everything back into cars!

ANNUAL EXHIBITION 2022
Our 2022 Annual Exhibition was held at Lord Pirbright's Hall on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th December in conjunction with Pirbright Village Christmas Lights Switch-On.
The Exhibition was a great success with a significant number of sales being made of framed paintings as well as mounted folios, prints and cards. The event was well attended with a steady stream of visitors passing through the Hall on both days. The Craft Fair and Coffee Shop in the adjacent Clubroom were also well attended.
A video of the paintings in the exhibition as well as other pictures and information can be found by accessing our Facebook page (scan down the page to locate the video).

RAILINGS EXHIBITION - SATURDAY 30th JULY, 2022
Our Summer outdoor exhibition returned successfully after a two year absence!! The exhibition took place outside the Lord Pirbright's Hall with the Pirbright Horticultural Show taking place inside.
Members David Drury and Colin Wood sold framed paintings and many others sold unframed, mounted work or cards. The many visitors were treated to a high quality exhibition on a lovely summers day.
Pictures below were taken at this year's Railings Exhibition.
POP-UP EXHIBITION AT PIRBRIGHT CHURCH
We held a pop-up art exhibition at St Michael & All Angels Church, Pirbright on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th June. The art display was requested by the organisers of Pirbright Garden Walks and it took place from 11 - 5pm on Saturday and 12 - 5pm on Sunday. It was an opportunity for members to show and sell their paintings to a new audience and - as there is no Pirbright Village Fete this year - was another village event for Pirbright Art Club to take part in. Some of the originals from the Pirbright in Art Book were on show. Members Pam O'Donaghue and Colin Wood both sold two pictures each, which meant that an amount of £35 (10% commission) was given to the Church funds.
Photos of our exhibits, arranged on the pews at the Church, are shown below.

PIRBRIGHT VILLAGE SEA FAIR - SEPTEMBER
Pirbright Art Club took part in the Village Fair held on Saturday September 4th on Pirbright village green. The Fair's theme was "All at Sea" and the Club had several paintings (40 to 50), folios, prints and cards on this (and other) themes for sale. About two-thirds of the paintings were on the Sea theme. The Fair was highly successful and the Art Club certainly contributed to the success with many sales made of framed and unframed paintings as well as prints and cards. The two photos above are just two of the many paintings we sold. We also had an entry (an "artist mermaid" surrounded by several paintings contributed by Club members) in the Church as part of the Village Trail and which won the prize for the most original interpretation of the theme. Pictures from the day are shown below.

ANNUAL EXHIBITION 2020
Our Virtual "Annual Exhibition" was held from December 1st, 2020 until January 4th, 2021 in the form of a slideshow and gallery. This proved very successful and a number of sales were made.
EXHIBITIONS 2019
ANNUAL EXHIBITION
Our main exhibition took place on Saturday November 30th and Sunday December 1st at Lord Pirbright's Hall, Pirbright. The event featured a "Black Friday" sale of paintings in the Club Room, as well as our main exhibition in the main Hall. The event was very well attended and many paintings, prints and cards were sold.
RAILINGS EXHIBITION (June 15th 2019, in conjunction with Pirbright Village Dragon Fair)
In 2019 our Summer exhibition was held outside the Lord Pirbright's Hall, in conjunction with Pirbright Village Dragon Fair. The weather was "changeable" with rain showers and sunny periods meaning that we had to cover and uncover our paintings on a frequent basis. Nevertheless it was a very successful day for the Club.
Maggie Read described the "Railings" day as follows .... "We had an amazing display of dragon paintings on the outside of the railings and some very impressive paintings of other subjects hung on the inner railings. We had many visitors and sold five framed paintings altogether - not a bad result for a village fair! Congratulations to Lynn Willis, who sold two of the five - one being her lovely dragon painting! Well done, too, to Steve Wells, whose oil painting of the White Hart, Pirbright, sold to a buyer who has also commissioned another painting from him. Nina Klein sold one of her charming little paintings - congrats to her - and I sold my Lily Pond painting, so was pleased about that!". Further pictures from the exhibition are shown below
Member Teri Berry, a textile artist, kindly entered her wonderful dragon masks into the Dragon Trail, to represent our club. As shown in the below photos, they were on display at the Church during the Dragon Fair day.
